Reelo Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 13, 2026 · Applies to the Android app Reelo (com.reelo.saver).

The short version: Reelo does not ask you to create an account, has no analytics, keeps no record of what you download, and sells data to no one. What you download stays on your phone. If you connect your Instagram account, that session is stored on your device only.

1. Who handles your data

Reelo is developed by Jhon Jairo Rojas Ortiz (Peru), an independent developer. For any privacy question, write to jhonrojas.dev@gmail.com.

2. What stays on your phone (and never leaves it)

The files you download. Saved to the Pictures/Reelo and Movies/Reelo folders on your phone or, if you turn on the private gallery, inside the app's own storage.
Your download history (what you saved and when), in a local database.
Your settings: theme, preferred quality, fingerprint lock, and so on.
Your Instagram session, if you choose to connect your account.

None of the above is uploaded to any server of ours. Uninstalling the app removes all of it, except the files you already saved to your phone's gallery — those are yours.

3. What reaches our server

Reelo uses its own server to resolve links the phone cannot resolve by itself. This is all it receives:

Instagram is a special case: Instagram posts are resolved by your own phone talking directly to Instagram. On that path, the link never passes through our server.

We keep no log of who downloads what. There are no accounts, so there is nothing to tie that information to.

4. Your Instagram session

Connecting your account is optional. Without it you can download public posts, reels and carousels normally. It is only needed for your stories, your saved posts and a profile's grid, because Instagram requires a signed-in session to show those.

The session is stored on your phone and is used so that your phone can talk to Instagram.
If a particular download cannot be completed from the phone, the session may be sent to our server — inside an HTTPS-encrypted header — solely to complete that download. It is never stored and never written to logs.
You can disconnect it any time from Settings → Account. It is deleted from the phone immediately.
We never see your password: sign-in happens on Instagram's own website.

5. Advertising

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. To serve them, AdMob may use your device's advertising ID along with technical data such as model, language and approximate IP. Reelo does not pass your Instagram session, your links or your downloads to AdMob.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for consent before serving personalized ads, and you can change your choice later.
You can limit or reset your advertising ID from Android's settings.
Reelo Pro removes ads entirely. For a Pro user the advertising SDK is not even initialized.

6. Purchases

Reelo Pro is a one-time payment processed by Google Play. We never see or store your card details: Google only confirms to us whether the purchase exists, so Pro can be activated on your device.

7. What Reelo does NOT do

It does not ask you to register or to give an email or phone number.
It has no usage analytics and no third-party tracking tools.
It does not access your contacts, location, microphone or camera.
It does not read your gallery: it only writes to its own folders.
It does not sell or share your data with anyone beyond what is described above.

8. Children

Reelo is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children under that age.

9. Your rights

Because there is no account and no user profile, we hold no personal data to hand over or delete on request. You control everything directly: disconnect your Instagram account from Settings, clear the history inside the app, and uninstall it to erase everything it keeps. If you live in the EU, the UK, Brazil or any country with an equivalent law, you can exercise your rights by writing to the address in section 1.

10. Responsible use

Reelo is a tool for saving your own content or content you have permission to save. Downloading third-party material may infringe copyright and the platforms' terms of service. How you use the app is your responsibility.

11. Changes to this policy

If anything relevant changes, this page and its date are updated. Substantive changes are also announced inside the app.
